The MACETE methodology is anchored in active learning methodologies, placing the student as the protagonist of an intentional, investigative, and collaborative process — with emphasis on learning by doing, contextual connection, and continuous formative assessment. Its structuring axis is Challenge-Based Learning (CBL), in which learning emerges from a real, clear, and relevant challenge; students investigate the problem, make informed decisions, record evidence, and propose viable solutions, advancing through the phases Engage, Investigate, and Act (each one preparing the next). Progression is guided by the Evolutionary Axes, from “Self” to “World”, which articulate CBL, territorial contextualization, and social technologies, ensuring meaning, belonging, and student protagonism. Beyond the classroom, CBL connects school, families, and community, expanding spaces for creating and solving real-world challenges.
Fundamental Pillars
Three Pillars of Active Learning Methodologies
The foundations that support our entire transformative pedagogical approach
The student is at the center of the learning process, leading their own development through intentional investigation and collaboration.
Practice and constant experimentation act as drivers of knowledge, connecting theory to real and contextualized applications.
Continuous and personalized monitoring of development, providing constant feedback for sustainable growth.
A structured process in three phases that prepares students to face real challenges and propose viable solutions
Identify and emotionally connect with the real challenge. The student develops genuine interest in the problem to be solved.
✔ Identify relevant challenges
✔ Create emotional connection
✔ Spark curiosity
✔ Collect and analyze data
✔ Develop critical thinking
✔ Record evidence
Research deeply, analyze information, and make informed decisions. Systematic documentation of evidence and discoveries.
Propose creative and viable solutions for the identified challenges. Practical implementation of the ideas developed throughout the process.
✔ Develop creative solutions
✔ Apply knowledge
✔ Generate real impact
